This session will be to provide information about the fund and discussion about aspects of the process and success factors. The Marsden Fund is New Zealand’s premier fund for investigator-led research. It supports excellence in research across science, engineering, maths, social sciences, and the humanities. It is a contestable fund administered by the Royal Society Te Apārangi on behalf of the Marsden Fund Council.
Fast-Start grants: For emerging researchers, maximum of $120k per year for up to three years. Two stage process: EOI and Full proposal (if selected).
Standard grants: Open to all eligible researchers, maximum of $320k per year for up to three years (varies by panel). Two stage process: EOI and Full proposal (if selected).
Marsden Fund Council Awards: Open to all eligible researchers, up to $1 million per year for up to 3 years. One stage process: Full proposal (due in Round 1) and two stages of assessment by Council.
