The 2023 Te Hiranga Rū QuakeCoRE Request for Proposals (RfP) and Scholarship Round is now open.

Funding is available in the following areas:

  1. Project Proposals will be funded for up to two years 1 April 2024 - 31 March 2026, and will be
    divided into six key areas:

A) Disciplinary Theme and Inter-disciplinary Projects 

B) Proposal Development Grants

C) Workshop Grants

D) International Delegation Funding (see our blog post about recent allocation of this funding)

E) Co-ordination Mechanism Grants

F) Māori Capability Development Grants

2. Scholarships

A) PhD Scholarships - 3 years

B) Research Master's Scholarships - 1 year

The application process for each of the opportunities is detailed below and the deadline for submitting applications is Noon on Wednesday, 18 October. 
No late applications will be accepted.

Online Information Session

There will be an information session on the RfP and Scholarship Rounds on Monday, 2 October at Noon.
This will be a chance to get more information about the application process and funding available as well as a chance to ask questions.

PhD Scholarships

QuakeCoRE is offering 3-year PhD Scholarships for students studying in the field of earthquake resilience. Students must not have completed more than six months of their PhD at the time applications close in order to be eligible. In most cases, the application should be prior to starting a PhD.

Applicants must be ready to start this scholarship no later than six months from the date of the Scholarship Award Letter (scholarship outcomes will be announced in December 2023).

Master's Scholarships

QuakeCoRE is offering 1 to 2-year Master’s Scholarships for students studying in the field of earthquake resilience. Applicants must be ready to start this scholarship no later than six months from the date of the Scholarship Award Letter (scholarship outcomes will be announced in December 2023).
